Default Fuel gauge, MPG, fuel idiot light post...

My 07 Deuce is bone stock. Looks like the fuel idiot light consistently comes on at 150 to 160 miles after using about 3 gallons of gas. The gauge is not nearly so consistent. It will show from 3/4 tank to in the red. So average is 50 mpg +/-. Ive got 15000 miles on her after nearly one year. What are yall getting?

you need to adjust the float in the tank to make your gauge more accurate.

I've been getting on average about 45mpg on my '07 Deuce. I figure I get a little over 215 miles to a tank, but fill up whenever I get close to 180-190 miles.

Wow, I'm getting 37mph. I suppose that for the most part, that mileage is in town though. Fill up at about 120 miles. Haven't hit the gas light yet as I don't really trust it. I'd have to try to push 700# more than a block.

Most of my miles are "highway" so I would guess that your mpg would be appropriate for city. The manual says you have approximately one gallon left when indicator comes on so I would estimate that worse case you probably have 10-15 miles left before you're pushing.
