Hey,
Ive got an '04 SE deuce with the factory seat. Ive also got a Sundowner seat and backrest for the wife. The backrest uses the bracket that you bolt throught the fender. I want a solo seat. Will the harley filler panel work with the backrest mounts still there? If not, is there an aftermarket seat with a passenger backrest built in or quick tatch? I think I need to get rid of the damn mounts for the backrest to run a solo seat. As you can see, Im going for a very different look when the wife's not with.
Any input would really help guys! Ive looked into this all winter and cant seem to find a solution.
I went with a Corbin solo seat and used the H-D plugs to fill the holes (PN 761). A couple of my holes were a little big so I just wrapped the plugs underside with electrical tape to give me a snug fit and they have stayed in the holes just fine. If you look closely at the rear fender you can see what they look like on the picture.
SuperJoe, I feel your pain, once the sissy bar is removed your stuck with 3 studs stickingup.
I dont think the molded tail cover will fit over the studs, I know the seat (two-up)will .
Lets me know if your successful, cause I also would like to have the solo look without removing the studs.
yeah i dont think the filler panel will cover the studs, too tall. ****.... Well then, does anyone know of a two up seat with a built in backrest or something like that for the passenger?
I had a mustang solo with the removeable passenger pad.
I mounted the Deuce sissybar to the mustang passenger pad and used the mustang fender bib when I didn't have the passenger pad w/sissybar on the bike. (another solution would be to put the HD plugs into the sissybar mount holes instead of using the fender bib.)
when on the bike, it looked no different than when the sissybar was mounted on the fender.
sorry but I don't have any pics of the passenger pad with the sissybar mounted to it anymore.....[:@]
