Default Pipe Questioin

Guys,

On the new 08 train I bought, if I put hooker troublemakers on it, would I need the sert or stage 1 download? Or should it be ok stock.

Thanks

You will need some type of fuel management system as your bike is running way lean from the factory and the hi-flow pipes would make it worse. I would recommend the SERT and a Dynotune if you can afford it. The Harley Stage 1 downloads are crap and the paperwork for my Hooker Rebels even said that using the Harley download would void the anti-bluing warranty. I went with a Dobeck TFI because of the price difference, but will get a SERT in the future.

Just to let you know what my dealer said about the hooker troublemakers. I also just bought a 08 train and was going to put the troublemakers on but my dealer said that hooker has been have problems with pipes fittiing correctly and other problems in preformance. Just to let you know what i heard. I changed my pipes cause i would rather not deal with any problems.

My Hookers bolted right up with no issues and they sound incredible. I am constantly getting compliments on them. As far as performance goes, my Bones actually feels like a 96ci now. It was gutless before I put the pipes, SE intake, and Dobeck on it. I couldn't be happier with my pipes.
