Default Starting normal?

Hey Guys,

When I fire up the new train the starter sounds like someone smacked it with a hammer once the engine first fires, not when turning over to fire, but when it first ignites. Is that normal?

Yeah, it's normal. Even HD has commented on this in other venues.

Nice scoot... Ride on!

LOL, thanks guys. Love this forum, always a wealth of knowledgable people and a great crowd. You know how the new bike worries go, everything that sounds funny is a concern. However that damn shimmy in the steering has to be something, maybe spokes adjusted wrong?

To be honest, the NT makes more funny noise than the old FXSTC

Just called my dealer and spoke to service and they said it was most likely a loose steering stem nut, not meaning loose as in falling off loose, but he said it has to be adjusted and if it is too loose that is will shimmy and if it is too tight it will track to one side or the other. Said it is something they need to do and not something I could do by myself.

Normal sound, something about the counter balancers, or something like that, mechanic was going over the my cross bones when I bought it and showing me things, but I was to busy daydreaming on riding it then paying attention (LOL)
