Default Any ideas

2007 Deluxe - Just got my bike back frommy local stealer - 1,000 mi service. Had the fluids changed to synthetic but it seems to be much hotter than before. I thought changing to synthetic would drop the temp 20-30 degrees. Unfortunately i don't have a temp gauge - this is only based on a couple of rides and the heat on the back of my right leg. Any ideas?

Probably the outside ambient much warmer than you have been used to up to this point. The SYN3 will drop the oil temp by 20-30 degrees with that 96 cc engine will put out the heat when it is not cold outside.

Synthetic may drop the temp slightly, but no way will it bring it down 20-30 degrees. The only way to bring it down that much is to richen the air/fuel mixture and use an oil cooler.

It shouldnt be running hotter.

But the big claims of 20 - 30 degree cooler did not happen with my bike. I run Syn 3 in all three holes and and ride in So Cal , desert area temps in the summer 80 - 105 after changing to Syn3 I saw a drop of about 5 -10degrees on my temp gauge (analog , meat thermometer type in the oil tank)

I will still continue to use the Syn because of the higher burn point of the oil and longer life but it did not really make a big difference in temp.

i run syn3 in the engine and it runs about 240-250 after a ride then just idle, but while riding it drops to about 210-220, but then againit is only about 50-60 degrees outside

Get a fuel management and a dyno tune or Thundermax before it burns up or you do.

I had Syn3 put in at the 500 mile and it made a difference, then when I changed it again at 2500mi. I used Mobile 1 for V-Twins and it seemed to drop a bit more. A lot of its dropping has to do with both the oil and the fact that its looened up a little more.
I haven't run it long enough yet to know for sure, but from the short rides I have done I think the Tmax w/Autotune I just put in has madea bigger difference than the oil change.
Next step is an oil cooler that Ihave, just waiting till Ichange the oil again at 5000mi. to install it.
With all that done I'm hoping it will staydown below 200 even while sitting at a light on a hot (over 80 deg.) day.

only way a oil temp will drop is with a cooler installed if the motor running to hot your mixtures are wrong
