Why don't you try a Heritage. You can dress them up or dress them down to suite your mood or riding occasion.
I hate to see you swayed by the HP vs. money angle. No other bike has the mystque of a Harley.

4trax...

I rode Hondas for many years and loved them...there is no question that they are some of the finest machines on the road! HOWEVER...there is no 'cult like' (in a good way) following with a Honda (or Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki...). I rode with a bunch of guys from the university I work at and they all rode Harleys. I took the abuse...put up with their crap...and out rode all of them on my 2006 VTX1800C. Then one day I was shamed into going to my local HD dealer. I bought a new 2007 Fat Boy that afternoon!

Fast forward to today...I sold the VTX, joined the HOG national and local chapters and started going on organized rides and getting involved with the group activities. Bottom line...I will always ride an HD, simple as that! There is so much more to it than just the physical bike itself. It is hard to explain. I've owned a dozen new Hondas, including 3 new Gold Wings, and have NEVER enjoyed motorcycling as much as I do now! I've spent a fortune 'personalizing' my Fat Boy and buying HD stuff, but it is all$$$ well spent!

BTW...very nice avatar!

Good luck...

Steve

Well said both of you guys.
In my book there are two kinds of motorcycles; Harley-Davidson and everything else. Harley's have a soul. You love on them, you buy presents for them and humbly (sometimes) except praise.
Jap bikes, you just put gas in and ride them. Ho Hum.

Read the fine print on just about everything Harley. My buddy stopped over yesterday to show me his new helmet. He bought it right from the local Harley shop and even the tag inside said the same thing as this.

No. I was just stating what I seen. I have made up my mind thanks to one of the guys that responded about owning both Jap. and Harley and that there is something different about a Harley and the brotherhood of being with others such alike. You don't really have the brotherhood of that which Harley riders do. To me that's a big thing also. Not to mention there is alot more accesseries and gifts to buy for itSo I have decided to go Harley and hopefully Doc's can hook me up with something that fits me good and I look good on or atleast look a little better on
