Hi all, I have been looking to buy a sound system for my 05 Heritage and am looking for suggestions. I have seen about 4 different system set ups (on the internet)but like the looks of the cycle sounds 2" chrome bullet speakers to mount on the handle bar. Also not sure if the 2" speakers will sound "tinny". Not too mention they are also the most money......Question I have is can you hear it going down the highway at 70 mph wearing a helmet? I have SE shotgun slash cut pipes which are not too loud. I will be using my Sansa Rhapsody MP3/FM tuner as the music provider.
The other option I think might work is to mount one of the other brands 4" chrome speakers on my engine guard. Once again not sure how it will sound at hwy speeds especially mounted on the guards.
Looking for any advice from the been there done that crowd!

From experience on my previous BMW RT1150 (Radio/Cassette/CDs) speakers are useless at speed (any speed). Wind/engine/exhaust,traffic noise, etc.muffles the sound, and more so if you wear a helmet over the ears.Mind youthe BMW is "quieter".My Fat Boy now with Rush slip ons is the only music I hear, even with ear plugs.
Speakers on a bike are good when youstop for a break or while cleaning the ride. Those who choose to install them in their Harleys they listen to them (while riding) so loud thatare obnoxious, specially if they have loud pipes.
I'm about due for a new verizon cellphone.. Does anybody know of a verizon phone that has good music capablilties? Rather than carry a cell and mp3 player, I thought maybe combining the two might work.

Im Not Sure Of The Sound But I Do Like The cycle sounds ,,, I Think Im Going With That For My 03 Heritage, Remember Your Out In Open Air So You Might Not Hear As Well At 70 MPH Like At40 MPH
But If You Go With Them Enjoy Them.
I Have Seen Them On Bikes At HOOTERS On Thursday Night And The Guys Say That There Ok And That Like Them, Thats All I can Say About Them
Again Enjoy Them If You Get Them
