This might sound odd, but a friend of mine rides a 2005 Heritage and thinks it's too loud for him. He put on Samson true duals, with fishtail mufflers. He is saying it's annoyingly loud(to himself) when he takes a highway ride. He likes the true duals up front...so is there a muffler change he can make that would be slightly tone-downed? Or modify his fishtails?
Hmm...there's nothing wrong with saying they're annoying at highway speeds. Especially if he's riding for hours on end with the same tone. I don't know about the Samdon trues, but the V&H have a quiet baffle that can be added to tone it down a tad and everyone seems to like the tone better after installing the baffles. See if Samson makes those for their system.
He must have the non baffled straight fishtails....They are obnoxious loud...Drag Specialties has a set of 8in baffles you can install. It will take about 30 minutes to do and it brings them down a bit..

Iput a similar set ofbaffles in my Samson II, Rip Saws. I didn't like the sound of them, so I switched to Khrome Werks, HP, drag pipe baffles. Samson doesn't make baffles for my exhaust, which is basically 1 3/4" OD drag pipes. If you have 1 3/4" pipes there is not much choice in baffles that will fit.
