I have an FLSTCI 2005 and want to upgrade the triple tree. I have managed to snap both of the fork leg clamping bolts presumably through load shock and had one of the fork legs unscrew[]. The roads in my area are a bit rough on the bike obviously. I want to put a heavier duty tree on without having to modify the front end or change the forks. Has anyone fitted an upgrade and if so what did you fit?
Wow you actually snapped the two bolts going to you lower triple tree clamp?? You must really have some rough roads!!! As far as the modification I am not aware of an FL triple tree upgrades, but I am sure they are out there , Good Luck
Why not save your self some money, pull the tripple tree off the bike and get a machine shop to redrill and tap the holes for a larger size fine thread machine bolt and get a grade 8 bolt for it. Should be nearly bullet proof that way.
