Corbin released a few, but nothing that interested me. High End/Danny Gray also released a couple.
Nothing from LePera.
I was shopping for a solo, and found the HD Brawler to be the best looking, best mounted of the entire bunch..
I'm waiting for LePera to release a Sorrento two up so I can toss the stock Badlander in the trash for good.
I was going with a Saddleman, and got the well its not ready yet BS after talking to them for 2 months about a new seat!
So..I called Corbin, and got there Hollwood Solo for my 2006 FXST...I have heard, and they stated to me! that there seat need's a break in time.
I asked if there were options, because I need a softer seat right out of the box! because of lower back pain that I have....Its a done deal, they are making me a seat for my needs by changing the foam instalation prosess of the seat! also they are going to make a Pillion with a low profile to match my seat...like they have for the 2005 seats.
Check there website to get a better understanding on what I am trying to say here...
I understand what you're going through, I too disliked the stock seat so I took matters into my own hands. Somewhere on the web I found that someone was taking a Stingray hide and making a custom seat so I am doing the same. I found a Stingray skin on Ebay and it being shipped to me (in Canada) from Europe for about $90.00USD. I have found a local upholstry shop guy who will recover the seat with this Stingray leather for about $75.00.
I think you should look for custom bike builders on the net and some of the have these exotic skins on the seats, they say it wears better than leather and has a neat pebble finish to it, and they can be tanned to just about any color. Or just search for "Stingray hides" on Google.
I hope this helps. The guy at my local HD shop says that I shouldn't tell anyone because then as he says "everybody will have one", but at least it won't be everyone around here. Beside, I just had to tell someone.
Thats what sucks, the best looking seats are usually the most uncomfortable. Im in the hunt for a new butt rest also, but I need comfort for the summer trips.
I just put on a Danny Gray/High End Badger on my 06 , took about 3 weeks to get but it was worth it . Fit is very nice and the quality is superb , I'll post a pic when my rear fender comes back from paint.
L night...they do look nice, I checked them out also. I only see the Baggers that have comfort with the HD stock seats...and I realize that the sidekick is NOT stock. I have looked for months and its a Corbin for me!
just bought a Sundowner⢠Deep Bucket Seat for FX SoftailŽ Models
for my 06 nightrain as my wife couldnt cope with the badlander
the seat looks flaming huge on just doesnt look right on the bike oh well keeps the peace .....
