My wife would like to get me a windshield for my 2007 Softail Custom for Fathers Day. Would like to see some pics of Softail Customs with shield on. I would appreciate the help here. Thanks for the help.
Hey wpadi, I have the new H-D Quick Detach Windshield. I have no complaints. Little big, but does the job. If you don't want it on for the short trip, 10 seconds to remove and 20 seconds to put it back on.
Once you ride with a windshield, you'll find it very difficult to ride without it again Not only can you really hear your pipes, the wind noise in your ears will be so much less that you can actually hear what's going on around you. I always thought the stock Heritage windshield looked way too large, so I cut 4 inches off, keeping the stock contour though. It is as low as you could ever go and still have the windshield be useful. If I had to do it over, I would only cut off 3 inches. The look is great, the lines flow and the windshield is still functional.

Best of both worlds . . . Great to have on for higher speeds, cooler weather, or lots of insects. Even better to take off in a matter of seconds for a little cruisin around town (no helmet in WI) -stef
