Just a quick question. What is an ideal AFR? I am still waiting on word about my T-max, so I'm running the stock ecm without any downloads. Was thinking about the Nightrider XiED, but don't know which to get. Any feedback on this product?
I would just sit tight and wait for the Tmax, it's a closed loop circuit that has it's own wide band O2 sensors, so the sensor XiED would be a waste of good money......"be patient weed hopper"...
Bone
You are looking at the Tmax WITH auto tune right??
yeah it has autotune. the thing is that i'm waiting for a response from them. I don't have the orig. receipt or packaging. the thing is just sitting in my garage. i've been riding with the stock ecm,but am afraid to cause engine damage. I just can't control myself, so i need a good quick fix.[&:]
I asked them for a little help with mine and they got back to me withintwo days, and I accidentally screwed up my own e-mail address. The guy couldn't get me that way so he called on the phone.
What mods have you done to the engine? I'll look through themaps I have and see if I can figure it out for you.
EDIT;
If you only have the Matin Bros exhaust and Zippers A/C you could use map #391 as a start then adjust it to run at 13.8 to 1 or slightly richer. The Autotune should be able to handle the fine tuning in a relatively short time frame.
I can give you a quick safe fix for about 99 cents.Unplug the 02 sensors and replace them with a 330ohm 1/2 watt resistor. That will fool the computer into thinking you are open loop and run the engine at a rich 12.1 afr. I ran mine like that for 4 months and even went on a trip to the mountains. Will also run very cool too.
12.1 - isn't that a little too rich? I know too lean is bad, but too rich isn't good either. Somewhere between 13 and 14is good. My dyno sheet runs from about 14 with a steady richening to about 13 at 6500rpm.
Thanks, but I already dropped it off at Harley for a SERT. Theysaid they will put it at about 13.3:1 forthe altitude. I still plan on sending back the T-max for a repair/replacement then probably gonna sell it on E-bay. Don't know yet. I'll see within the next few weeks (when I get off my lazy ***).
Load the smarlink on your pc and read the Manuel and pick what map is close. How hard is that? Why is it sitting in your garage? What are you waiting for ? READ THE MANUEL . Very easy install.

I already had it installed. Something happened to it one day when I went to start it. The fuel pump didn't activate. I even tried to rewrite the map. Still nothing. No diagnostic codes either. I ran it for about 2000 miles with the T-max. So it isn't like I don't know how to install it. I've installed it and uninstalled it, so that isn't the issue, thank you.
