So anybody ever experience busted Softail shocks? A buddy of mine was riding 2 up on his ’06 FXST to a local bike night tonight and all of a sudden he said he started dragging the license plate on the rear tire. After we ate we went out to look at his bike and when he sat on the bike the back fender just about bottomed out on the rear tire. I got down on the ground and looked at his shocks and they looked intact, bolts not loose nor busted, shock can not loose, but when he sat on the bike the center chrome shaft moved like 2 inches. Is it possible to break a shock spring?

does your friend have a lowering kit installed on his bike
i do and it was installed incorrectly iheard a pop and she dropped looked cool as hell though
my dealer fixed it for me at no cost and they were not the ones who put it on .
i had a docs hdtshirt on from somewhere in missouri,(nice tshirt)one of the tecs told me that if i promised not to ever wear that shirt in the store again my repair would be free of charge . well i agreed and i was back in action, i'm sure that i will forget and wear itin againmaybe i'll wear it next time i need new tires or some major work done. thanx pensacola hd you guys are great!!!
