Default Apes - would you do it again?

I am considering a set of Wild 1's 12.5" apes for my Heritage classic. I love the look, but my question is around comfort and handling. Would you buy them again if you were to do it all over again?

if I bought a deluxe or something of that style, yes. I had 12" apes on my train and I didn't like the look. It was comfortable, but felt a little less stable at high speeds going over bumps.

I had 12.5". I wanted 16" and let the HD mechanic talk me out of it. I always regretted it - made my elbow sore as hell.

Replaced them with 16" last year andno more elbow problems. Now I'mthinking maybe I would like to go to 18". Definitely will have at least 16" on any bike I get in the future.

I think they handle great.

Would do it again in a heartbeat. The best mod I have done to my Fat Boy. 12.5". Eliminatd my lower back pain and have had no problems with arm / shoulderpain or fatigue and in my opinion the handling has improved.

I put 16 “Apes on my 07 Custom. I was going to put 18’s on but thought they looked a little too high on my bike. I really like the 16’s, I’m 6’3†and they seem to be just what I wanted, and were more comfortable than the 12.5’s that came with it.

Thanks guys, the bikes look great!! I'm only 5'10" and I'm concerned the 16"ers would too tall, that's why I'm leaning towards the 12.5"ers.

I'm 6' and have 16" bars and could easly go with 18". You should be fine being 5' 10" and going with 16" apes.

Yup. Apes are far more comfortable than the stock Night Train drag bars, for me.

Cheers!
