does anybody run torque cones when putting new pipes on these bikes with the 96" or bigger motor? if so, comments? pluses, minuses etc...
I ran them on my sportster when i had the Pipe Dreamz Wet Dreamz pipes on there and they made a difference. they seemed to give back some of the low end torque. also, the dyno proved the bike liked them more. my dyno numbers had more hp and torque with them compared to without.
i am thinking about running a set when i put on my new pipes. I am debating between the V&R Big Radius black or the West Coast Choppers Hell Bents.
i had toque cones on a sporty when i ran open drag pipes, made a big difference when you have pipes w/ no back pressure, you lose all low end. depends on your exhaust set up. if the bike kills itself going up a hill from a dead stop you might need em. every engine needs a certain amout of backpressure in the exhaust to run right.
I have power cones (torque cones) in my Samson II,Rip Saws. The Rip Saws are 1 3/4" drag pipes (no baffles). I have the 103" engine ona 2005 SE Fat Boy. The bike runs great with this set up. No noticeable loss of power in the low, mid or upper range.
I have read the posts about how you lose power in the low to mid range when you run drag pipes, but my bike runs fine this way.

Anti reversion (torque) cones work great with open pipes...I know a guy who put them on with baffles in the pipes and couldn't figure out why the bike ran like crap...
