Default Basic Seat Question

What is the simplest way to take off the stock custom seat? I have loosened it from the back, but can't seem to figure out a easy way to remove it from the grab handle. Any ideas and suggestions would be much appreciated
Thx

Me too. The manual you get stinks. It's like the answer to everything is "See your stealership."

Hey guys, I took mine off last year. I don't remember anything trick about it. I'm pretty sure the grab strap has to come off with it as well. I will go out to the shed after work and look at the stock seat to see how it came off. If nobady else replies I'll try to give you a better answer tonite.

Hey, Thanks jb55. There is only one bolt holding it on, but it seems next to impossible to get in there and take it off with only two arms and then trying to put it back it would be painful. Curious to see how you do it

Swivel the seat a little sideways once it's loose front and back. Then grab the front of the seat and pull the seat through the strap. Least that's how I did it..

I have had mine off a couple times, remove the two acorn nuts from the back and pull it forward to dislodge the studs from the sissy bar and then push back on the seat to dislodge the tongue from the frame and then swing it either direction and slide it out of the grab strap. I watched the stealership do it a couple of times.

Great. Thanks guys. No how about putting it back on? That looks to be the difficult part.

SoftailC is correct on removing the seat. What you guys are missing is that you have to flex the seat to get it out of the tongue in front and to re-insert it into the tongue and flex to position it back into the sissybar. It won't break. Don't be afraid of it. It really is easy to do.

Some seats are a little different from others, but +1 on the don't be afraid to work it, they're not fragile...
