I am planning on lowering my 01 FXST for about 2", I am around 170 pounds and I rarely rarely have a passenger.
My question is, if I lower the bike, will it be still ok to slide the lift under it to lifet it up when I change oil etc.. I understand that it will lower the frame a bit, any idea how much it will go lower ?
Klf33, got mine dropped 2 inches front and about 2 1/4 in the rear. I can get my craftsman bike lift under with a little work. To mark it easier I back the rear wheel up on a 2 X 4 block. I’m about 185 and never ride 2 up.
I dropped mine about 2"-ish. Never got definitive measurement. Anyway, my jack is just a RCH too high. I do a similar trick for the 2x4 on the rear except I use a stepped set of 2x lumber and the front wheel. I get the front up about 6" and then use a 4x4 block for the kickstand if alone of while I have the bike balanced I have another person center the jack under the bike.
