I was hoping for some insight on what helmets are most popular. I have always worn novelty but looking for a DOT that doesn't make my already big head look like a mushroom. I was looking at skid lid or zog old school. Have not found any local shops that carry these so I could try one on. Any help would be great!
I have this helmet. It's pricey, but worth it to me. http://www.carbonfiberhelmets.com/
I did a search, and found some to like the vega xts http://www.vegahelmet.com/
Check out your local cycle store. My local Yah, Kaw, and Suzuki store sells these vegas.
If you ride sans windshield the cabonfiber.con DOT is the best I have found
very light and nearly no lift.
I get a little above 70MPH but it is nothing like other half helmets I have had, hardly notice it lift and no head pull.
I recently purchased a Carbon Fiber DOT. After about 500 miles, I am very happy with it. No ride up at 65-70 mph for me.
It took a few tries to get it to fit right but after a few rides, I even forgot I have a helmet on after a few miles whereas the fiberglass ones always seemed heavy on long trips.
A friend of mine told me about the Davida 91.Trouble is they have stopped making them.I got lucky and found one on ebay and it fits just right. Good hunting.
