I am looking to replace my floorboards with ultima forward controls (also badged as Milwaukee twins from J&\\;P).
I have had several conflicting pieces of information that i would like to clear up if possible.
does the fatboy have mounting positions for the forward controls? Can i simple remove my floorboards and place the forwards on (obviously changing kickstand and brake lines to suit)
I am thinking about this as well. \\; Looked at a softail custom and the frames look the same. \\; Talked to the dealer and they said that the forward controls should work but we may have to play around with different linkages to find the ones that work. \\; The HD forward controls for my '06 were going to be around $600 so not sure if I want to get into that cost. \\; There are some aftermarket forward controls that should fit as well (Kuryakyn, AN, etc).
I managed to get through to a dealer in the UK of the ultima parts and said similar. I also managed to get them for $500 approx. which believe me in the UK is cheap. the genuine HD ones are approx $600 and here more like $1100!
Now i need to get a new kickstand and some brake hosing made up \\
Cheers for the advice and help..Nothing like Harley people!
The forwards off other softail models of the same year will bolt right up. The shift lingage and OEM rear brake line all matched up. \\;I found a set with the rear master cylinder and kickstand still on it. Took all of 20 minutes to do the swap.
I bought my forwards for my 07 FatBoy from Accutronix. \\; They supplied the kickstand, oil line, etc. \\; Was a pretty easy job and I think they look great. \\; You can see them in my sig. \\; If you want better pics let me know.
are they extended? I bought mine from a member here, only paid $200. They are OEM off an 07 night train. I think I'm gonna look into extending them another 2".
Third Left Eye,
 \\;
Am wanting to extend mine as well, was wondering if the kit from Kuryakyn will work ?. \\; Let me know if you work anything out and I will do the same for you if I work it out.
G'day,
 \\;
So did you ever get around to extending them? I want to do same with mine... I am quite sure that an extra 2" will NOT hit the front fender and have seen another 07 with the extension kit and they definitely missed the front fender.
