I made a couple of changes on the Fatboy this week\\; one long overdue and one I swore that I would never do.
I put the 4" X 1-1/2" pullback risers on and what a difference it makes! \\; This is the way it should feel to ride. \\; I no longer have to reach and my hands don't go numb after 10 minutes of riding. \\; It puts me in a natural riding position.
I also installed a Memphis Fats 17" windshield for my long commute to work and I don't feel all beat up when I get to work! \\; The quick detach hardware makes it a snap to take on and off.
Just thought I'd let you guys know what I've done and hope you don't beat me up too bad about the windshield!!!
Hey there is nuthin wrong with a windshield, just count the bugs.
And the pull back risers are great...I have the same.
With that said I'm going \\;with 12 inch apes this winter. \\;
count yourself fortunate to have a pre '07 FatBoy. HD changed the handlebars to a full 1 1/4", making aftermarket risers almost non-existant. I would love to have a 4" pull back set for my '08..... \\; but the aftermarket hasn't caught up with me yet.
I put the 4 1/2 inch pullback risers recently too on my '02 Fatboy. \\; Made a \\;big difference on \\;trips. \\; Got them from JP Cycle's part number 5000370. \\;
I had risers on my Fatboy. So much more comfortable and natural feeling riding position.
Windsheild an essential for me on any trip involving speeds over about 65mph.
I have ridden with guys who can ride naked bikes up to 150mph but then they are half my age and still crazy.
Hey Carolina sorry I didn't reply earlier been away. The apes \\;I'm planning for \\;have a \\; \\;12 1/2 inch rise, 12 inch pull back and 1 1/4 inches so I can do the internal wiring.. I'll either go with Buffalo or Burly depends upon the price.
