trying to change bulb in passing lamp on my fatboy cant get the new one back on correctly \\; .. i cant get the trim ring to fit back in the groove. \\; is there a secret

yea i did that but there is a ring that goes behind the lamp that seems to be keeping it from going over that lip i pushed hard and still wouldnt go on just dont want to bend something

Maybe your wires are binding it up. You really have to get a good gap to get it over the ring. Did you purchase the whole bulb assembly or just the lamp. I checked the prices of the new light &\\; it was pricey. I carefully removed the rubber boot &\\; took the lamp apart. Bought new 55w lamps at advance auto for $4.99 each. They're much brighter &\\; the fix was way cheap.

I just put visors on mine and had to replace the stock clamp. There's a ring behind the bulb that has slots in it so it only fits one way. Make sure everything is lined up properly and the bulb housing seated. Snap in the top of the clamp, then press it and work it around to the bottom. The passing lamps were easy but the headlight I had to work at.
