Saddlebags
I was kicking around the idea of dropping the back, and decided I really just neet bags. \\; The reason I haven't bought any is because of the retarded amount for good bags. \\; Like I told the parts guy at Gail's today, I can spend $200 or I can spend $700. \\; His reply was, if you're gonna spend $700, spend $1000 of some really good ones. \\; At least he agreed the money was was too much. \\; I wonder if the oil companies have a patent on detachable saddlebags? \\; Anyhow, what am I gonna have to spend to get bags that hold their shape and hold some crap?

Google Fox Creek Leathers in Independence Virginia. \\; I just bought a set from them and they are fine quality heavy leather \\;bags with quick detach mounts. \\; They are also American made. \\; The prices are very fair and you can't find better people to deal with. \\; They actually want the customer to be happy so they will work with you to make sure you are satisfied.

I figured the same thing, if I'm going to spend $700 I might as well spend $1000, so this week I \\;bought a set of Boss bags, and so far I love them. I had planned to only snap them on when I knew I would need them, but so far I haven't taken them off!

I know what you mean about price. I did this retrofit of hard saddlebags for about $200 total. The bags were purchased on Ebay for $52 ea.!

I have the original bags that come with the heritage, but I put in hard inserts from a company called Saggy Bags. \\; It holds the shape of the bag so they don't sag everywhere. \\; I know the originals cost about $700 and the Saggy Bags inserts cost about $130.00 (with shipping) but it's a nice fit.
