Hey jkeeton, I have a 08 custom and the stock seat is sweet. IMO, probably one of the most comfortable stock seats especially on a softail. It's perfect for two up as well. It's big enough that you aren't cramped with the passenger on the back. Also, my girlfriend has said nothing bad about it. She finds it very comfortable even after a 400km day.
I have toyed with the idea of a different seat with a sissy bar, but unless you spend a lot of money, you probably won't find a more comfortable seat.
&nbsp\\;
You getting the and 09 or a 08? Colour?
&nbsp\\;
Cheers,

Sweet. Mine is my first Harley to. I upgraded from a 1100 Virago. I'm 6'0", and the size is perfect for me to.&nbsp\\; The only thing I have thought about replacing besides the stock exhaust&nbsp\\;[:'(], is the foot controls. I find that when I shift, the toe of my boot kind of gets stuck. I have to slide it in from the side and then slide it back it out when done. hard to explain what I mean, but that the only pain in the *** with it.
I have only had mine since April and haven't been riding it nearing enough. Haven't even had my first service yet. Kind of ashamed of that!!&nbsp\\;My job requires a lot of OT and weekend work so it's tough getting on it.
&nbsp\\;
I haven't done to much to mine yet. Just added some small cosmetic things. Smoked lens caps, bob tail fender rack and a chrome voltage regulator cover. I am not to worried about blinging it out just yet. Want to enjoy riding and trying to pay off some bills!!&nbsp\\; Owning one of these is $$$&nbsp\\; but SO worth it. Wouldn't trade mine in for anything.
&nbsp\\;
The dark blue pearl is a sharp looking colour. If they didn't have the Ann. colours, that would have been my next pick. Black is cool, but everyone has black. Need to be original sometimes eh.
&nbsp\\;
Cheers,
&nbsp\\;
Ryan

I liked mine so much I had it recovered in leather. Kinda matches the red color of the bike plus I like being different.

Nice,&nbsp\\; I think I know what ya mean bout the controls.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; My friends Honda did the same to me.&nbsp\\; My foot always got stuck.&nbsp\\; Im currently in Iraq so im saving some money to get some different foot controls right off the bat.&nbsp\\; Im also looking at exausts and Handle grips.&nbsp\\; How do you guys feel about a windshield for this bike.&nbsp\\; I thought bout getting a removable one, but I dont want to make it look ridiculous.&nbsp\\; Any opinions?

The stock seat is about the best that's ever been put on a Harley by the factory. So your going to have to go some to improve on it any, but it can be done. There are places that will take your stock seat and modify it with better foam and or gel pads if your not satisfied with it as is for a lot less money than a new one that may or may not be better.
