Default How difficult?

How difficult and expensive would it be to add a second disc brake to the front of my softail? My friend has a RK and he has twin disc brakes, i really like them.

First I think you would need to change out the fork to a wider one. Seen it done on the dealers project bike, a Fatboy with Road King forks to have two disk brakes. Looks expensive.

New fork with mounts for caliper. New caliper for right side. New disc. New wheel with right side mount for disc. New cables and splitter to run cables to both sides. New infusion of money to wallet. Might be better to add a good quality floating disc and better pads to what you already have.

are you wanting the looks or the stopping power? I saw a 360 brake that has both.

I have the same type of question.&nbsp\\; Kinda interested in these.

Saw this in the August 08 issue of American Iron... Check it out.&nbsp\\; Ceramic Disks!!!&nbsp\\; They have been using these in racing applications for years and they last a long time.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;This and and a 3 piston caliper may be the answer.&nbsp\\; Stock single Calipers on my sporty for instance cant get the pressures as evenly distributed as 3 or 4&nbsp\\;piston calipers.&nbsp\\;

You may need to upgrade to an 11/16" master cyl. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe single caliper ones only have a 9/16" bore. Sorry for the late response.
