Sounds a bit steep to me. Have they given you a written quote? See if you can figure out how much is for parts and how much is for labor.

That sounds pretty fair. Chrome forks are around $1,300.00 and bars, braided steel lines, usually another $1,000.00.
&nbsp\\;
Have your switch housings, master cylinder&nbsp\\;and levers swapped for chrome at the same time.

I would also factor in how long you plan to keep the bike, and how much is it worth.&nbsp\\; If you sell, don't count on recovering any of that money.&nbsp\\; Nice improvement, but costly.

I would GLADLY do it for $1500. Mine took a lot of work and time, but I would never pay somebody more than $500 (labor)&nbsp\\;to do it for me. A service manual only costs $60!

That is way more than I would spend. My bars were $160 and cables were $250 and I did the work myself. As for the forks, you can buy chrome lowers for under $300.

$2000..WTF! Cables=$200+, Bars=$300ish, Chrome Lowers=$300ish. They're charging you $1200 labor and its not even performance upgrade. BTW check out http://www.zanottimotor.com/&nbsp\\;for cheaper HD parts.
