Hubby followed instructions, reset security system. Bike responds to fob. Now what happens is...Bike will turn over (some headway!) However, the electronic or fuel system must be shut down or not working. You can't hear the inital startup of the fuel injection. Also strange- at some point the turn signals flash 5 times. He can turn it on, it turns over, but u can't hear initial fuel system start up, it turns over but doesn't fire up. Any new suggestions now? Thanks
Now that you know how to get your fob to activate and deactivate the security system, try another disconnect of the battery. It might just reboot the system. When disconnecting the battery, the easiest method is to disconnect the ground strap from the frame just forward of the battery. This way you are not constantly messing with the battery terminals.
I have a 2005 SE Fat Boy, with an owner's and a service manual. It does state after a battery disconnect, you are suppose to follow certain steps. I never did this, the 4 or 5 times my battery has been disconnected and never had a problem with the security system.
I could copy the instructions and e-mail them to you, if you need them.

Kill switch is in run position. Checked - spark plugs are getting spark - unhooked the battery and redid it...still nothing. It turns over. (sigh) Wondering now if it's something else. We checked the wires that go the fuel injection with the meter. They read right according to the meter. Haven't checked the coil...can't find a place on here that tells how yet lol At a loss for what else to do , other than check the ignition system and don't know how to do that either. Open to suggestions. Short of back on the trailer and back to the dealer....running out of "shade tree options"
