I posted a similar question here several months ago, and it seemed that Mustang & Corbin got the most recommendations. I had the Mustang put on while I was in Sturgis this year and could not be happier. The comfort over the stock seat is night and day. I can ride all day now without being uncomfortable. I highly recommend Mustang but I'm sure some of the others are much better than stock as well.
I believe the stock seat on my 07 softail standard is the rallyrunner. If You want to trade straight up I am interested In the badlander which is stock on the 07 - 08 night Train. Both bikes I believe the seats are interchangeable. My seat is in perfect condition so I would expect one that is also in good condition. 732 237 8701 Thanks - Larry.
Take a look at the C&C seats. I did a lot of searching for a new seat and decided to go with the C&C Sport Tour. Absolutley love it, and the misses has never complained about it. Excellent quality, service, and pricing. I will be getting another one for solo riding next year.
I saw a new seat on the tv show American choppers and it is a solo and bolts to part of the chrome frame and you can add a passenger seat the clips in the solo mount and it covered the entire fender and has backrest build in.
I will 2nd on C&C. The service was great as expected, quality is on the money, fitment was great, very comfortable, and the turnaround time was very fast! Oh and inexspensive!!
I have a Corbin Gunfighter on my 04 Fatboy. This has been the best money I spent on the bike to date. I couldn't believe the difference in comfort during the ride and ZERO pain after 400 mile/day rides. It breathes very well in warm weather, comfortable throughout the day, and looks great on the bike. The backrest is also a nice option to have when going on longer rides. Are the corbin seats a little more expensive, yes, without a doubt. Are they worth it, yes, without a doubt! I can't honestly say enough good things about the seat. It changed my riding experience forever. My only regret with it was waiting 7000 miles on the stock seat before I got it.
Sorry Larry, had already ordered a rally runner off of ebay before i saw your post. I also looked at the C&C seats, will probably look into ordering one of those when i have a bit more money to throw at it, thanks for all the input!!!
I see it's too late but, for me, the discussion begins and ends with Mustang. Great looks, reasonable price and extremely comfortable. I have one on my Springer and we just got one for the wife's Heritage. I am anxiously awaiting a Mustang for my '09 Street Glide, but they say it will probably be January before they are available.
Anyone have the Solo seat from Mammoth Choppers called the "sloth" ? I was looking at getting the Corbin Hollywood solo but this Sloth seat is $175.00 cheaper.
I was going to ask the same question today. I have wanted to order a Corbin but the almost 400.00 price tag was holding me back and not to mention 2 - 6 week wait time. I have been told 2 weeks by some and up to 6 weeks by others.
Then today I came across Mammoth "Sloth" and have found little on reviews; good or bad. The only main difference that I notice is that Corbin's are handmade and Mammoth are Mass Produced. Both are made with real leather and fiberglass seat pan.
