Default Should I sell????

Here's the deal...I've got an offer on my 05 carb ST deluxe for a fair bit more than I paid. The problem is that I've been working on it for the last 3 weeks making it into what I want it to be. Should I remove all the things I've changed and sell it or just keep it? (new fenders, forward controls)
The other problem is that I don't know what I'd buy if I did sell it. I wouldn't really want another softail as I've not been impressed with the handling or anything about it really. I'd buy a street bob if it wasn't for all the EPA 02 sensor BS.....

any opinions?

ride safe

Never ask someone what bike you should buy.

You are the one who has to ride it so get the one that fits you and your riding style.

I had a FXST that was a well balanced nimble little bike that handled well around town. But that's not where I ride most of the time. On the highway the light front end would get to dancing around at 75 or above. And the forward controls needed to be extended.

So I traded it in on an 06 Ultra. It will run all day at 80 with nary a wobble. And jumps right out to 100. It is a good companion to my 03 Heritage Classic. Now I have a medium and a long range bike.

I did not seek anyone's opinion. I went and found the bike to fit me and my riding style.

I think you will be more satisfied if you spend sometime trying different models to find the one that fits. Don't worry about the bling. You can always add that later.

I disagree completely with AK_Hog. I mean, it's why we come here to this forum so we can have people we've never met before tell us what bike to buy.

And being that we know your riding style, how many miles you ride each week, your financial situation and all, we are the perfect advisors.

I have tried them all. I've had sportsters, dynas, glides and now this softail....It's the first HD i've owned that hasn't felt 'right' to me......but i've now made changes to it over winter that hopefully will help. (haven't ridden yet since it's still frozen here) I'm not asking anyone what bike i should ride. I'm asking for opinions, in case it wasn't clear enough in the previous post.

Retroharley, thanks for your input.....here's a clue. I mostly ride highway miles, not much city riding. I ride out to the twin cities a fair bit. It's about a 7 hour ride from here.
Didn't your momma ever tell you....if you don't have anything nice to say....
In case your reading skills aren't so good I'll put it in caps for you....ANY OPINIONS?

I'm not asking you which bike I should buy, i'm looking for OPINIONS...i've heard the the expression that opinions are like ******** but just because I was looking for opinions doesn't mean I was looking for ******** opinions.

I've got an opinion. Ya made the comment on the first post that the bike didn't feel right and someone was willing to pay you more than you paid for it. Sounds like you've answered your own question. Sell it, take the money and buy the Harley the does feel right, And with the extra from the sale you'll already have a customizing fund for the new one. Just my opinion. Michael

I ride my fatboy on the highway almost every day (except today because the weather man LIED!!!) No problems at 80+ on th fatboy.

I am guessing that the bike you have is the one in the Avatar, right? I cannot really tell but it looks like you have an FX front end... maybe the FL would be more comfortable for you. I personally have not liked any of the FX front ends I have ridden. I like the wider tire on the front... It may not be as nimble as a dyna in town but I feel safer on this bike than I have ever felt on another bike.

Chill out, this guy at the end meant my comments were "tongue in cheek".

Geez, go have a beer.

well here`s my 2cents..i think you and only you know what to do. are you really going to make that much money on it? if yes then sell it! if it`s what you want for a bike and you put all the work into it ...then keep it..you say it doesn`t feel right? well how much have you rode this bike and how much different is it from what you had before? the reson i ask is i buoght an 06 n/t and it feels funny to me but it`s not at all the style of bike i rode before. it`s what i want no dout there but just need to get used to it. you can`t go from a ford f350 to a mini copper without some funny feeling well all and all it comes down to is whats gonna make you the happest camper??
