Interesting. Have never seen those before. Are they even legal? I would say that anything over a headlight wouldn't be legal. I wouldn't think it would disperse any less light though.

Its not something 'over' the glass, it looks more like they used a CNC machine to etch the glass. That may still be an issue in some states, but as look as its not something blatently obcene I'll bet you can get away with it easy enough.
If I had any resurvations about it, its that once you etch the glass like that it puts ready made fracture lines into the surface.
I'm not sure how much of a smack from a rock or other road debris it could handle (its still a curved surface) before it shattered on you. But the odds are its a lot less then a stock untouched lens would be.

But it is a clever idea and would make a neat custom touch.

That looks really cheesy in my opinion. Not to mention the safety aspect of the headlight's functionality.

IMO why dont you just get a piece of vinyl cut to fit your headlight. A lot cheaper idea, and if you dont like it is easy to remove. WIth the head light you could be stuck with it.

Cheesy, I guess that depends on your point of view, doesn't it? One man's cheese is another man's jewel.
As for the safety, I agree there's something to be said for that, but a mild outline design would make little or no difference in how much it puts out. A more elaborate one, like the rose design they show on the other hand might well affect the 'quality' (depth and direction) if not the 'total' quantity of light given off.

The ad says they can do just about any design, so your not limited to just what you see there.
