Default Handling a Softail

I'm 5'8, and roughly 180 pounds. Could I handle a Softail Custom? Sorry if this has been gone over time after time, just curious.

Don't see why not. I'm 5'11" and 170 and ride a Heritage Classic.

Greetings,

I think you can, but to remove any doubts you ought to rent one for the day from your closest dealer that offers rentals. No need to make an expensive mistake!

I'm 5'11" 160 and have no problems with the Softail Springer, even with the Wife on at 5'9" and 130

Have you ever sat on one? My buddy is bigger than I am and thought the same thing untill I let him sit on mine. He was shocked how easy it was to balance.

I think you would love the fit. I'm a bit over 6' 190 lbs and sooner or later I'm gonna get the forward extension kit to get my legs out a little further.

The bike is only heavy when it get's past the balance point and starts to fall. Otherwise youa re sitting on top of it. You can handle it.

Don't sweat it, I'm about an inch shorter and 10lbs lighter and the only issue I have with my Custom is trying to back it into a parking spot when its going uphill.
Now if I were to lower it an inch or two even that would disappear. But the wife likes to ride with me once in a while so I really can't lower it unless I can convince her to let me get some kind of air ride system for it.
