First off let me introduce myself. My name is Chris and I will soon be the proud owner of a '09 Heritage Softail Classic. I ordered yesterday and will take delivery in June. I'm currently deployed and ordered through the AAFES car sales guy who deals in Harleys. This is my first Harley, I've owned Honda's before..my current ride is an '85 Honda Shadow VT700C that I bought about a year ago as my "learning bike". To pass the time between now and when I pick her up in June I'll be looking for engine guards w/highway pegs, a backrest for myself and guards for the back end. I look forward to my new baby.
Welcome to the family of Harley Davidson, I think you are going to like it. I bought my first Harley in 1984 after a 7 month deployment (Navy) and had a picture of it taped to my rack that I would stare at everyday. The day we got back, everybody ran off the ship to start the 30 day standdown with their families. I took a taxi down to San Diego Harley Davidson and bought a new red XLX Sportster $2995+tax. I spent the whole 30 days standdown riding that bike all over SoCal and I have had a Harley ever since. Its been a great ride. Thank you for your service, you are a hero!
Congrats on your graduation into the big leagues.
