Default Internal wiring handlebars

Has anyone got any insight on internal wiring handlebars? I was considering rewiring my 2008 Deluxe. Do you need specific handlebars to do this?

Thanks,

Yep, dimpled bars. I used WildOne 504 Chubbys on my 07' Deluxe. If you need guidance on how to install and rework the control cables, fell free to ask. Installed bars, SS cables, tach, extended control wiring last winter. Will look great...

Drilled some holes in stock Heritage bars and wired them internally. They were dimpled.

I don't think bars need to be dimpled, just drilled for internal wiring.

Not to hard of a job. if the bars are not drilled you will need to drill them and make sure that you smooth out the edges of the holes. Use a vacume cleaner to pull a piece of string thru the bars and tape the wiring to the sthing and ease it through the bars.

Some people just cut the wiring between the tank and forks and then splice it back after pulling the wires thru the bars, but I think its worth the time to disconnect at the connector under the gas tank and then pupp them through. If you need to exten the wiring you can eithe splice your self or J & P has wiring kits that extend the lenght using factory connectors.
