Changing bars on Rocker (wiring question)
Ok I've got the tank up where I could disconnect the turn signal plug. The guy at the dealership told me to push the pins out of the plug with a ball point pin. The question I have is concerning the "other" plug. The one that houses the wires for the starter/switches ect. Can I "push" the pins out of this plug too or do I need to cut & splice? Also these wires are all run in some sort of rubber shroud. Should I split this shroud to seperate the signal wires from the other wires and use heat shrink when I put it back together? Thanks.
Had a friend of mine who did electronics in the military take a look at the plugs. He says there's a metal tab on the pins you need to depress to "push" them out. They should actually come out without much force but after looking at them he could not find the tab either.
So at this point I've decided to cut and solder them and then heat shrink over the splices. It apears I will have to split the old wire shroud and despose of if. The way the wires will be routed through the new bars the old shroud would be useless anyway. Wish me luck. I never liked doing electrical

when i did my Apes i took needle nose pliers and just pulled the pin a touch and then turned it and they came right out then just did the same to put them back in.pushed the pin back in the housing and just a tug on the pin from the bottom and they locked back in.could be different on the rocker not to sure
