I am installing new handlebars on my 14 SG Standard.
Can I sever the wires at the TBW plug and resolder? I read somewhere that there is a resistance issue if cut in the wrong location..Or try to remove those tiny pins from the plug?

If you really need to cut them they should be cut close to the connector otherwise it may create issues with the resistance. I would not cut them. I have a 2014 ultra limite and installed a 12" KST Mayhem bars and did not have to cut anything on the right side only cut and extended the heating wires on the left side and used Namz 8" extentios. Also I did not have to remove any pins.
There are those that have cut them. I personally have done a half dozen bar swaps and would NOT cut them. They disconnect at the small green connector. Unplug them carefully, and before you replug the connector, run a piece of shrink wrap over the wire and shrink wrap the connector together. worked great

Gunnysgt,
I just unplugged the green and small black connection point and snaking it through now. Trying to get those tiny pins free was a PIA...
Thank you..
Biggest issue I've encountered with taller internally wired bars is having the TBW throttle get sticky after it's pulled thru. Had that happen twice. Need to be gentle pulling that TBW wiring thru the bars and installing the TBW grip. Both times I ended up replacing the TBW unit. It wasn't binding anywhere physically, it was internal in the TBW after installation.
That's not good..
I have the La Choppers 10 Twin Peaks, I hoping the brake and clutch lines as well as the control wires can stay stock without purchasing extensions, do to time constraints this project will linger.
