Well I went and done it. My local HD dealer made an offer I couldn't walk away from. I traded my 06 Heritage for an 08 Ultra. I really liked the ride of my Heritage and the looks too, but my other half just couldn't ride it the kind of long distance trips we were used to taking back in the day when we rode a Goldwing on vacation and the Harley for local rides. Now we just have the Ultra.
The dealership had me pull all the goodies I had installed on it and put it back as near stock as possible, so I have a trailer hitch for it that I used only 4 times for sale if anyone is interested. Also I have some offset risers that raise the bars about 4" and moves them back about 1". If anyone is interested just PM me.
Oh the more I ride this Ultra the more I like it. Having tubeless tires is a big + for me.
Well the risers are sold. I still have the hitch though, paid $200 will take $150.00. Oh I also have a set of HWY bar clamps with the peg post if interested.
congrats on the trade, hope you enjoy the new ride.
Thanks, that is a sweet looking ride you have yourself. Now if I could still afford two bikes...........being retired is fun........just don't pay worth a $#!^^
Thanks Rockytop. We already have a trip planned for Aug-Sept, 17 days of riding WY, MT, ID, WA, OR, and CO. Of course since we are in LA we have to cover TX, OK, and KS going and coming to take the fast way out and back. We have been out that way several times in the past so we are going to skip over all the usual stops and go straight for Bear Tooth to start with...
