Default Se 95" kit

Normally I would exhaust the search function before post this, as I'm sure someone has asked about it; however, I'm asking for a buddy so I'm going to throw it out and see what happens. A friend of mine just got a 2004 fatboy and wants to do the Screaming Eagle 95" Kit, if he gets the kit, are there any other "hidden" costs that he may not have thought about. Thanks in advanced for your help guys...and gals.

that depends. if he is just doing the 95" stage I, not much to that. but to me it's crazy to not go all the way when your that tore down. I would upgrade the cams to at least a SE 203 $200. and send the heads out for a street port $299. SE adj push rods $129, SE cylinder studs $49, new torrington inner cam bearing $15. Mill Heads & raise the CR to at least 9:6.1. the last and most important if its a FI would be the SERT at $350+ and a good dyno tune at $300+

I have been collecting my 95" kit for about a year. all said and done I'll have about $2000 in it. installed and tuned

$2000 is pretty dam close to what your gonna hit. I added the 95" kit with 203 cams..push rods.. no head work..bored out the cyclinders because it saved me a few bucks. I also added the dyno tune in there and it all came to about 2100-2200. I then added the 15,000 mile service. I dropped about 2400-2500 just right there.

My bike has a fairly fresh Harley Dealership "Cookie Cutter 95" kit....I'm up 6000 feet in lovely Colorado.

Heres a qoute from a local harley Motor "Guru" that he says will make my bike "Fearsome"? As it stands I have a set of 211 cams with V&H Bigshots and a Heavy Breather. Up at thios altitide my 95" motor is a few things....Fearsome certainly isnt one of em!

The first estimate was pretty fearsome....So here is a toned down version.

I have PM'ed a few of the motor guys on this forum and so far I have had differing opinions. But there certainly can be some extra added fun to making a "Good" 95" especially if you are at altitude.

Not a time let the wallet wuss out. If your bud's going to tear into the engine, then at least make it worth the time and money. The 95" is a good "builder" and with a good choise of parts and options can be a screamer. Alot will also depend on riding habits, as in where the rpms are best liked. I chose to stay with Harley parts, mostly.

SE 10.25 to 1 pistons
SE 211 cams
SE adjustable pushrods
SE heavy clutch spring
Heads ported, larger intake valves, SE bee hive springs, compression release
Throttle body ported
PC3
SE intake
SE2 slipons with Big City Thunder baffles

AND A BIG AZZ SMILE...

I would also add a Baisley LMR-2 bypass spring in the cam plate. $20.00 will buy you a consistantly higher oil pressure. You're rockers, and the rest of the engine will thank you.
