I did fishtails because it reminds me of the 70's growing up and they sound a little different than anything out there. There are better performnce pipes and slip ons out there but a tenth of a second faster quarter miles was not what I was looking for. 07DELUX nice video, really captures the sound difference.
I think fish tips make a different sound than just straight pipes. I don't mind it in order to get the look I want, but they do make a different sound.
I love the traditional look of fishtails but the sound is not for everyone. My Sampsons have more of a rappy sound, not the deep throaty sound of most aftermarket exhaust. Not really high pitched, just not a deep sound. I would not like to ride behind me for any length of time

Like the sound of a fat girl farting in a wet bathing suit, you either love it or hate it.
I've got Samson true dual fishtails without baffles...The best way I can describe the sound is to compare it to an old chevy straight motor running a split manifold and straight skinny pipes. The sound is like a really raspy, rapping, and ear splitting (if your riding behind) sound. Thats what my pipes sorta sound like. I love it, but it's definetly not of everybody.
I've heard the Vance & Hines and Freedom Performance true duels with fishtails (or sharktails) and those pipes definetly have a deeper, more performance/muscle car oriented sound.
