Default question about the danny gray seat for the rocker

those of you guys that have the danny gray seat for the rocker.

do you guys know if the caps that HD sells to cover the mounting holes for the seat will fit on the rocker if you have the danny gray seat on there?

I have the caps and a Danny Gray seat. I do not have the caps on as yet, but it looks like I will have to modify them a bit to get them to work. If you notice on my seat below, the front mounting bolt is used to hold the seat on and the rear is open.

yeah, i did notice that the seat only uses the front hole to bolt on to the frame.

i've never seen the frame caps in person though. how much modifying will you have to do?

they have 2 lugs that go into the standard holes to keep it in place, When I saw it I figured cutting one off and trimming around the shape of the seat(they're only plastic) but leaving it the way it is hasn't bothered me too much yet...

I believe you would have to notch them to fit the front bolts (on top), cut off the front lug (inside), and use a little silicone to hold it in place. At least that is my plan when I get a chance to work on it.

I havent put one on my bike yet coz I use the pillion struts a fair bit, and it probably would have to be glued to be held in place after that lug is cut off
