I have a night train, so it isn't all lit up like a christmas tree. I saw a delux running the conversion kit on his lights that comes from Harley. I know that Kuryakin also has one. I can't figure out from Kuryakin's literature which one is designed to plug right in to my bike like the one from Harley does nor can I tell how they have set up the lights to work.
My first question is, do you all think that it really makes any difference in rider safety? I mean, this is just a couple of little lights...
My second question is, when you step on the brake does the kit that you have flash the lights? If it does, what happens when you step on the brake and use the turn signal? Do the running lights get brighter when you step on the brake? All that stuff...
I saw that someone thought that they should be able to build their own on here a while back because the cost is pretty ridiculous for what they do but that's part of the question as to whether they are worth it...
I got the HD kit on mine, its a plug and play, it does not flash the lights on and off when you hit the brakes, when the brakes are on and you put your turn signal on they still work, as far as safety goes, thats why I put them on the back of my cross bones, like your bike just had the tail light before, with the running lights I do think it helps alot, and if the tail light bulb goes out you still have the running lights til you get it replaced. I really think all the bikes should have them installed at the factory like this in the first place.
If you are wanting something to get the guy behind you to notice your brake light a little bit better go over to e-bay. I bought a little part that you splice into your brake light wire and then ground it and it will cause your brake light to flash I think 3 times then it will stay on like normal. You can cut a small wire on the installed part and it will make the brake light flash 6 or 7 times then stay on. The part with shipping is about 20 dollars and I have been running mine for about a year and I haven't had any issues with it. I have also gone with the lay back LED tail light, also off e-bay, and it is brighter than the stock stuff.
Good luck and Ride Safe, but RIDE!!!!

i might have to check into this one ...i like the idea of the flashing brake light at first to get attention
I got the HD kit on mine with smoke lenses in the rear and clear bulbs and when we ride at night especially all the people I ride with say it looks like I got headlights in the rear too.. Thinkin of using a red LED bulb to see how they do.. I'll let ya know
Hey Tomhummer, I looked on e-bay after I left that post and they are still selling the thing. It's like 14.95 for the item and I think 3.95 shipping and handling. It also flashes the brake light if you only hit your front brake. The thing is really small and has worked perfectly for me.
