I just purchased an 06 Heritage softail and am getting ready to purchase a windshield. I want to go ahead and get the lightbar at the same time. What is involved with moving the turn signals to the lightbar and installing the switch for the lights?
From what I see just taking a glance the turn signal hookup is under the tank. Where do the spots tie in? (headlight bucket maybe)
Maybe I should put my risers on at the same time.
Sorry for all the Noobe questions. This is my 1st Harley and I don't want to screw anything up.
when I installed mine I made all the electrical connections in the headlight bucket. I guess if you want to go the the connection for the lights it is under the gas tank. As far as the light switch it is as simple as a hole drilled into the rear cover on your forks and two wires. Very easy. Good luck.

Is there a place to plug them in inside the light bucket or did you just splice them? Do you know if I can unplug the turns without removing the tank? Thanks for your response.
Just installed one on my Fatboy. Slide tank back a few inches to get to turn signal plugs. Put a piece of cardboard over your chrome rocker covers first so you do not scratch them. Those hose clamps hanging down for the fuel crossover line will hit them if you are not careful. To power the lights I installed a relay so the lights could always be on if I wanted them to. With the stock wiring, the auxiliary lights will only come on with your low beams.
As was said above, you just need to slide the tank backwards a couple inches to gain access to the signals. Make sure you disconnect the fuel line first or you won't have enough slack to move it back. I got power for mine from inside the headlamp bucket. If I remember correctly, it spliced into the yellow wire.
