Default Air Filter Question

I have tried not to ask any stupid questions so far on here but here we go. I bought my 06 Nightrain last year with 647 miles. It came with Vance and Hines shorts and the air cleaner setup in the picture. I have noticed that other softail have a solid air box with a plastic cover on the back yet mine and a few others I’ve seen are open. So here is the stupid question: Is this the hi flow air cleaner?
Thanks

One bolt takes the cover off. The filter will have an HD number on it. Search for it on the internet. That's how I discovered mine was an SE air filter. I doesn't say Screamin Eagle unfortunately. I recently replaced mine with an K&N after reading all the bad things about SE air filters. Took the SE filter into the local HD and the guy said yes you can wash it gently 2-3 times and it's trash. K&N has a million mile warranty. $53. Enuf said!

Looks like high flow to me. It would be easier to tell if we could actually see the filter.

I agree it's hi flow. The original has a full cover back just like the outer.

Looks like either the SE or Ness Big Sucker kit...just take the cover off and check...

The photo you posted doesn't show the filter....anyhow, the stock plastic backing plate is what is missing in the photo and that does not mean its a 'high flow' filter...it was probably removed to allow more air to get to the replacement filter hidden behind the air cleaner cover which i'm guessing is a high flow filter since they took the backing plate off......just loosen the bolt off the front of the air cleaner cover and then you should see 3 screws through the air filter.... take the air filter off and look for serial numbers or a label and research what it is....

i use a K&N high flow air filter because relatively inexpensive and washable and last practically forever....

Not all HD filters turn to mush after washing, depends upon the filter. Dealers love to sell filters. The K&N is a good choice if you want to be sure. As stated, remove the cover to see what's in there...heck, you may have a K&N inside.
