Default Avon vs Performance Machine Grips

I purchased a set of the Avon contoured grips, aka the Performance Machine "clone" grips on ebay. These are all rubber with billet end caps. These also fall about 3/8" short of the length of my stock HD grips. The shorter length wouldn't be much of a problem except that I am running 1 1/4" bars that drop to 1" and this means moving all my controls out and leaving a gap because of the shorter distance, I hope this makes sense. To you owners of the real PM grips are they the same length as the factory grips, and are these all metal with just a rubber cover?

Thanks,
Aaron

I have the PMc grips on my Carlini 1.25 in bars. No gaps that I can see.

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to try to return mine. Are the PM grips all billet metal with just a rubber cover, or are they rubber with just metal end caps like the Avon's?

I've got the PMs on my 1.5" Carlini's and there isn't a noticable gap.

Mine say Performance Machine on the end caps and the rubber grips say Renthal. I love them. I am told the rubber is replacable.

I called the seller from ebay and they are letting me return the Avon's and they are sending me the real Performance Machine grips. He even measured them while I was on the phone and said the Avon's come up a bit short. I just have to pay the difference between the two. Good customer service he is putting them in the mail for me today.
