Spent some time the past month reviving my FatBoy. Blacked a bunch of stuff and fixed the God forsaken solid discs. Think it turned out pretty good....
Hooker TroubleMaker Exhaust
Screamin' Eagle Intake kit
Custom wheels of my own design (sent the big aluminum hunks of crap that come on the FatBoy to a mchine shop in Ohio with a CAD file and they cut them on CNC machine and powder coated them)
Pirelli Night Dragon Tires
Chrome brake discs
Chrome fork sliders
Badlander seat
Smoked turn signal/LED tailight lenses
Burly low rise drag bars with hidden wiring
It's funny, for years it was all about the chrome. The more chrome the better, now alot of people are going for the blacked out look. Looks sharp. I really like how the pinstripe matches the rims.
great idea on the wheels. how much did they charge?
$600 - that was machining, powdercoating and new bearings front and back and shipping. The place is called Gorby's Machine (www.gorbysmachine.com). They have some stock patterns that I wasn't thrilled with so I designed my own.
I have 4 or 5 other designs as well - just did them on my CAD program (AutoCAD) and sent them the file. I think for just machining it is $125 per wheel or something like that.
