Default HELP PLEASE!!!

I need help with mounting a side mount license plate holder on a 05 Fatboy. I guess I don’t know if I'm trying to mount it right or if I have a wrong part here. I was trying to mount it on the outside of the swing arm, I removed the spacer and washer, but I am not getting any thread. Looking at some pictures on the internet it looks like it might mount between the swing arm and wheel, but I don’t see how that would work. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. I don’t have a rear tail light now so I need this on before I can ride.......and not riding is making me sad.

Thanks

Maybe you could tell us a manufacturer, part number, or shoot us a picture. Pretty hard to help with what you have given us so far.

Looks to me like it replaces the wheel space and goes between the wheel and the swingarm. The space provide with the bracket goes inside the bracket to convert it from a 1" dia. to 3/4" dia. depending on your axle size. Here is a pic from their website....OK stop looking at the chic now and look at the bracket location.

I saw that pic....she is not too bad Anyway, because it is a different swing arm then the Harley stock, that one looks like it is behind. Ah, I will have to look at it again tonight. I was pretty frustrated last night and just about threw it through the window LOL. I went to the local Harley dealership here and they have the exact one there...is on a softail though, but same thing.....so it has to work. Is the last part to install before I ride....thank god it has gotten cold out again! Thanks guys for your help so far!

After thinking about it, you will probably have to cut the existing spacer the width of the bracket and put them both in there. You want to be sure that the final spacing is the same as the original so that everything lines up properly. Be sure to sand the cut side to remove all the burs and rough edges.

I would think the inside on the pulley side of the bike, there isn't enough axle to go on the outside. Now put it on there and "take off eh".
