Default Pulling Handle bar wire??

putting Carlini 1.5 TBars on the 08 FatBoy..and cant get the original wire conectors (molex) threw the 90 degree turn at the middle of th bar..it looks like I will have to cut the conectors off and then pull wires threw..anyone run into this problem with these bars?? I don't want to cut wires if I don't have to..

I've heard that trying to do the internal wiring on drag bars with risers can be a real PITA. That's why I plan to have my dealer do it. No patience for me. I'm considering the Carlini Originals with 5'' rise. Put some pics up when ya get it all together. Good luck!

Did you take the pins out of the plug? I believe you have to do that. Instructions are in a service manual. There is a wire lube made that will make this job a little easier but WD40 works in a pinch too.

the easiest way to do this is dissasemble the molex connector and remove the pins. Make sure to make a note of where each wire goes in the connector. Landscaping twine or an old guitar string works work for a lead string. Once you get the lead string thru the bars, use electrical tape to attach the wires from the harness to the lead string. Pull the wires thru while pushing on them at the same time. A little patience, and its a piece of cake, it will save you a couple hundred dollars to do it yourself.

Right on.I will also use another piece of wire for pulling. But overall the worst bars to wire are the "T-Bars"..Just a PIA period.

yes all connectors are pulled from housings but terminal ends are on the wire ends.. its when these ends are taped up (to prevent damage) and are pulled threw bars as soon as I get to the 90 degree turn they will not make the turn because they are metal and won't make the turn..

I got them through on min e when I had bars like that. I found any string works, I used ranger 550 cord since that is what was laying around. As long as the string is strong and wont pull apart. I also found that you have to stagger the ends abit so it like pulling one through at a time, it takes time and will p1ss you off but it will go through.

It may help to try and stagger the pins when taping them up where you tie them onto the pulling rope so that the bundle is smaller. Fold half of them back and try to stagger them as best as you can. Just takes some patience.

yep.... that's what I had to do....leave some space in between the stagger so the can make the curve... taped them all to a string about 1/2" apart and as one comes out take the tape off and then get the next one... it's slow and tedious but works
