Default Question about pipes

Will a set of V&H big Radius pipes that came off of a 2008 night train fit on a 2004 Heritage softail.

your best bet is to ask your local Stealer

they should fit, but they will likely have a threaded bung in each pipe for the o2 sensors, you would have to plug this up with a pipe plug or something like that

They do make bung hole plugs. They cost anywhere from $10 to however much you want to pay.

Anyhow, you best bet is to go to Vanceandhines.com, just shoot them an email and they will tell you if what you have will work with the pipes you have.

Only diff is those bung holes. Cheap plugs and its all good. The same Vance & Hines Big Shot standards that will bolt on an 86 Evo powred softail will bolt directly up with on a 2009 96" Bones sans the plugs.

The real issue with pipes is that the larger motors want and need a larger exit diameter on the pipes. So for example a set of standard big shots will have a 1 3/4 head pipe and the same 1 3/4 exit diameter which is no good for the bigger TC motors and chokes em down bad. The newere pipes designed with the higher performing larger motors in mind have a stepped pipe design which will go from say a 1 3/4 head pipe to a 2 1/4 exit pipe.

I had a set of older big shot standards on my 05 Night Train that choked my bike and wouldnt let it make any power unless I ran them without baffles. The pipes bolted right up and were the same part number for my TC88 as they were for an old Evo! I had to switch up to a set of Big Shot stagereds with the larger exit diameter pipes in order to get the bike tuned and running properly.

The only thing I can see is that needs to be changed is the support bracket and plugging the bungholes. It looks to me that it will fit.

I it will help anyone else out. I talked to a tech from V&H and the big radius pipes off of the 08 night train will fit on the 2004 heritage. Plug the bunghoes for the O2 sensors and you are good to go.
