Default Flush Mount Gauges

I'm thinking of buying the HD chrome flush mount cap/fuel gauge. I have done seach after search on here and am a little concerened after reading so many pros and cons about the failure rate of the HD set. When I looked them up on the HD site they said "New" next to the part number.
( 62818-06C ) Does anyone know if they have improved the quaility or if it's a martketing ploy? The kurykyn set had good reviews in my search results, and they look OK, I like the feature of setting where you want the gauge to warn you of low fuel, but, I kinda wanted to stick with HD if possible.
Any feedback is appreciated, I don't want to drop two bills on this mod then kick myself down the road.
Thanks, and
Ride safe......

Installed mine a month ago, has 7 blue LED's which really show up even in bright sunlight, & seems fairly accurate, & last LED flashes when you only have about a gallon left. Speedometer low fuel warning still works but comes on way too early IMO. Gauage & cap are excellent quality.

My best friend bought some about 8 months ago... he too was concerned on the quality issue, after reading about numerous problems with them. But, he has had no problems as of now.

I have had them on my 2008 Rocker C since June with no problems. I do know there have been multiple producers of flush mount gauges that have been miscorrectly reported as HD produced.
