Default Softail prices

I just got a 2006 softail deluxe and was reading up on a few things.I like to no why the price difference is so different on these to bike's.
The FXST/FXSTI Softail Standard is $14,495.00 and the FLSTNI Softail Deluxe is $18,355.00.What all extras does the deluxe have that the standard does not have.Thank's

Well quite a bit of difference
Standard-
Little chrome
Basic setup
silver and polished engine
no frills
A blank canvas for customizing
FX=sport front end skinny tires
Forward controls instead floor boards

Deluxe
All the chrome you can get from the factory
pimped out seat, touring style
touring style fenders and fatter tires
FL=fatter tires wheels
Floor Boards instead of forward controls
black and chrome engine (sweet)
classy outta the box......

When in doubt, get the Springer [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

You are basically paying for the "add-on" parts from the factory.
Take a Standard and add the parts list to make it comparible to the Deluxe and you'll be at the 18K figure.
Buy thye bike you like, customize it the way you want because the price usually washs out the same. The more you do, the more it'll hurt..

I bought the Night Train. I'm not into the all black look, but I love the wrinkle black engine to build my personal tastes around.
The bike was relatively cheap out of the box, but after adding engine mods, paint, doo-dads and chrome, I ended up at almost 30K out the door..

I started with a standard. Cheap and plain. I decided how I wanted the bike to look not the MoCo and this is the end result. Chrome was not much of a factor, I wanted more style and looks also easy to clean. In the end the price keeps climbing.

IMO I wouldn't get a bike that didn't have the black & chrome motor.

In my opinion the black motor is worth the difference.

The raw metal on the silver motor is a bi7ch to keep clean and wont look good after a few years.

Yup, the Black motor is not negotiable to me. It is a must. I used to have a silver motor, never again. But then to each his own. Buy what you like.
