I didnt jack mine up and it worked fine. i would strongly suggest 2 people for the job. Maybe I am challenged, but I had a hard time evening the bags up with it on the kickstand and by myself. Good luck, it is an easy install

did mine myself. sharpie and hold the bag where you want it. in my case it was a 2x4 in top of the pipe side and then match the other side. i got the forward brackets so i would not have to relocate the turn signals

Strut bolt change was the easiest mod I have made. Very straight forward, one at a time, and no, not jacked up.

If you put the right hand easy braket, on the left of your bike...you can put a larger bag on without relocating the lights..I used the rear brackets on the wifes Deluxe, and put a fairly large bag on them. Works great.

(Yes, it was a mistake...but I'll stick with it lol)

I'm a vote for having it up on a lift.

I have a 200 rear on mine and there just isn't a heck of a lot of clearance between the sidewall of the tire and the bottom of the fender wall. Couldn't get my fat fingers up in there without some pain involved. Putting it on the lift allowed the tire to sag down a couple inches and that was all I needed.

And yes, one bolt at a time, torque and loctite.
