Got my saddlemen bags and EZ brackets in. Havent looked at it yet as i just got home yesterday and im tired as hell. Just wondering if anyone installed em on their own bikes and is it a pain to deal with or pretty straight forward. Thanks in advance.
They are straight forward. Just make sure the bags are where you want them before you drill the holes. Prop them in place some how and stand back to have a look and see if it's what you like. The bags go no and off very nice, you'll like them.

Did you have to relocate the turn signals?
Did you mount the brackets first then figure bag placement for hole boring? Thanks much man.
Semi another little thing you can do is get yourself some GOOD quality duct tape. You can tape the bracket to the bag and do like silver fox says...to stand back and take a look. Some bags are made with a bit of a irregular slant so you need to get that eyeball back to line it up and make it straight.
Just a thought....
HELP!!!! I have a detachable backrest. How the hell does this part work? Near as i can tell, you need to get the HD backrest rubber mount off the HD bolt to make it line up? I have it all apart and am now lost!
Did you order the Easy Brackets to work with your detachable hardware? If not, I think all you need are longer bolts.
I ordered the kit for use with detachable backrest. If you did this yourself, can i call you??? Some parts of this makes no sense to me. Im not the brightest light in the chandaleer but not the dullest either. I had the club pres who is NO stranger to working on a bike absolutly miffed...
Anyway, from memory what I did was pull the Harley detachable stuff off, replace the old bolt with the new one from Easy Brackets, and replace the H-D bag mount with the new one. Bolt it back on the bike, and that's it. Use Blue LocTite.

Doesnt work! Looks like the mounts that comes with the kit dont line up with the mounts dealing with the backrest.
Looks like the rubber mounts are supposed to come off the HD bolts and add to the EZ bolts...yet they dont break free from the shorter bolts...
here is the kit i got.
